Personalized Eye Health and Vision Care

Locally owned and operated since 1977, the doctors and staff at Walter Eye Clinic are committed to providing personalized eye health and vision care for people of all ages in the local community. We don’t rush people through their eye exam or in our optical, but instead, we provide excellent and thorough care and take the time to get to know you and your family.  We are passionate about helping people achieve their best vision and maintain eye health. Learn more about the Dr. Chirag Rana and Dr. Mindi Rana, who own and manage Walter Eye Clinic and help people of all ages with their eye health and vision.

Dr. Chirag Rana grew up in Orland Park and graduated in the top of his class from Carl Sandburg High School. He then pursued a degree in biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Being extremely nearsighted and struggling with this as a child, he was inspired to help others with their vision and enrolled at the Illinois College of Optometry. His current passion is pursuing new methods to help control myopia today.

More about Dr. Rana

During his specialty rotations, he specifically trained in ocular disease, pediatrics, specialty contact lenses, and low vision at clinics across the county.

Dr. Rana always dreamed of coming back to the southwest suburbs to take care of his friends and neighbors.

After meeting in school, Doctors Rana & Rana moved to Tinley Park following graduation and married in 2010. They now reside in Mokena with their two children, Nehvin and Lola. They love being part of this private practice because it allows them to fully care for the needs of their patients. They are excited to be able to fulfill their dream of working together in their own practice.

Dr. Mindi Kieffer Rana was raised in a small town in South Dakota and graduated valedictorian of her high school class. She was born with congenital glaucoma, and she was inspired at a very young age to pursue Optometry because of frequent visits to her very caring Optometrists back home. Dr. Kieffer Rana was an All-State Band trumpet player in high school and attended the University of South Dakota where she received a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Pursuing her passion to help others with their eye problems, Dr. Kieffer Rana attended the Illinois College of Optometry. During that time, she did specialty rotations in pediatrics, ocular disease, specialty contact lens, and low vision.
