Eye Health Technology

Walter Eye Clinic is committed to protecting your eye health with the most advanced technology available, which is why our comprehensive eye exam now includes the iWellness. The iWellnessExam is state-of-the-art technology that lets our doctors see beneath the surface of your retina, where signs of disease first appear. Traditional eye exams and retinal photography cannot provide this level of detail. The iWellnessExam is fast, easy, and comfortable for patients of all ages and gives your doctor valuable information about the health of your eyes and your most precious gift – your sight.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

The doctors at Walter Eye Clinic use the latest in technology to diagnose eye disease and eye conditions. Optical Coherence Tomography, or OCT, is used to provide a detailed retinal eye exam for the early diagnosis of many serious eye diseases and conditions.

Optomap

The Optomap Retinal Exam provides a panoramic view of the back of a person’s eye (the retina). This panoramic view displays over 80% of the retina at one time.

Digital Retinal Imaging

Digital retinal imaging (DRI) is a quick and painless way for your eye doctor to look inside your eye and track changes to your ocular health and vision.

iCare Tonometer

One important part of a comprehensive eye exam is tonometry, which tests the pressure in your eyes. Elevated eye pressure can lead to eye diseases such as glaucoma.

At Walter Eye Clinic, our doctors and team use the iCare Tonometer to evaluate intraocular pressure. Traditionally, an evaluation of the pressure in the eyes would include eye drops and the test many patients dread – the “puff of air” test.

The iCare Tonometer can measure the pressure in your eyes without requiring eye drops of the “puff of air” test. The test is fast, painless, and accurate.
